State Level Recruitment Exam: No untoward incident reported in Lakhimpur district

LAKHIMPUR: The written examinations of the State Level Recruitment Commission for Class-IV posts of various government departments, was held peacefully across Lakhimpur district on Sunday. In the district, the exams were held at 40 centres from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in the morning half and 6 centres from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the second half of the day. A total of 13,160 (87.24?) candidates, out of 15,084, appeared in the exam in the morning half while 3422 (87.32%) candidates, out of 3919, appeared in the second half.

Strict security arrangements were put in place across the districts where the exams were conducted under strict vigilance. The candidates were not allowed to carry mobile phones to the examination centres. Besides this, the candidates were also not be allowed to carry any electronic items such as a smartwatch, health bands, electric scanner, bluetooth devices, microphone, calculators, pendrives, paper sheets, etc including printed or written books. Moreover, mobile internet services across the district were suspended for four hours in order to prevent possible malpractices during the exams.

Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate of Lakhimpur, Sumit Sattawan has promulgated 144 CrPC in the place within the 100 metres radius of the exam centres to conduct the said exams in free, fair and transparent manner, to restrict the involvement of any undesired external influence, malpractices during the entire examination process, which might vitiate the peaceful environment in and around the exam venues and to prevent the possibility of unscrupulous elements resorting to unfair means to disturb the free, fair and transparent exam process in and around the examination centers which is likely to create obstruction, annoyance or injury to any person lawfully employed.

"No untoward incident was reported from any of the exam centres of the district. Entire exam process passed peacefully, without any disruption and malpractice", Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattawan said while contacted. He thanked all concerned for the free, fair, transparent and peaceful conduct of the exams in the district.
